History
MCC was founded in 1987 by Gina Sharp. Gina was a freelance PR, who had spent her formative career with Good Relations and Business Image, later becoming part of Shandwick. She was joined by Fiona Brewer in 1989, who moved from her role as marketing manager at software distributor Xitan, part of the Kode Group - both companies being Gina's clients. Agency Director Ian Peel joined the team in 1997, having managed press and PR for IBM’s PC division and acted as Contributing Editor to magazines including .net and Music Business International.
In 1999 we moved to Winchester House in Winchester, a purpose-built HQ which was profiled in The Independent in October 2004. Perfectly situated in the centre of the triangle of business and IT media in the UK – London, Bath and the south coast – our offices are a thriving hub of marketing creativity as they also provide a base for our partners Barracuda Design & Marketing, web design specialists Clickfire and several freelance journalists.
MCC was once profiled in trade magazine MCV as “perhaps the only PR company that doesn’t revolve around schmoozing, lunching and hype” and to prove this we were the first UK PR agency to install a live 24/7 ‘office-cam’. PR Week loved the idea and its “spirit of corporate transparency and interactive viewing.”
